On December 3, 1939, the Rev. Thomas Sumners led St. John the Divine’s first worship service at River Oaks Elementary School. From that humble beginning, God has used our church to Change Lives for God in Christ in Houston and the world. To celebrate our 84th birthday on Sunday, December 3, we will meet on the church steps to take a parish family photo after the 9 am Church and 9:15 am Awesome Worship services. This is our first parish photo in almost a decade, and we look forward to including as many of our wonderful church family members as possible!
Please note the circle drive will be closed until after the photo is taken. Valet parking will still be available under the church porte cochere.
