Youth are invited to a series of 90-minute conversations on honoring God and loving our neighbor as ourselves with our bodies. Tonight's conversation is "Rules, Schmules"
Youth are invited to this series of three conversations on honoring God and loving our neighbor as ourselves with our bodies. We will be looking at what Scripture has to say about sex, common sexual pitfalls that teens face, healthy relationships, and what obedience to God looks like in our daily lives.
Each 90-minute conversation will begin with a talk by one of our clergy and youth staff followed by small group discussions. We will meet on three Sunday nights.
Our second session will take a deeper dive into Christian sexual ethics. What behavior is okay for Christians? Topics will include sexting, pornography, consent, and clear boundaries. We will discuss how the church’s teaching on sex isn’t about arbitrary rules but provides a way of being that is the most loving to others and ourselves. We will begin with a lesson taught by Rev. Neal McGowan, followed by appropriate small-group discussions.
