Holy Baptism at St. John the Divine
Holy Baptism is the sacrament by which God adopts us as his children and makes us members of Christ’s body, the Church, and inheritors of the Kingdom of God. Baptism has been a foundation for the Christian life since Christianity first began and it has been a pivotal event in the lives of families and individuals at St. John the Divine for over 75 years. Membership at St. John the Divine is required for parents to have their child(ren) baptized.
Baptisms are conducted at Sunday worship services on or near the feast days of Easter, Pentecost, All Saints' Day, and the feast of the Baptism of our Lord (the first Sunday after Epiphany). On Easter Sunday, baptisms will be held only during the 6 am Easter Vigil.

Please note: The celebrant will be the regularly assigned Sunday clergy. Baptisms will be held on the dates above during any Sunday services (except Easter Day). Please specify your choice of date and service on the Information for Holy Baptism Form.

Rite II in Church – 9 am and 11:15 am
Hall Life Center – 9:15 am (Awesome Worship) and 11:15 am (Modern Worship)
Baptism Preparation Classes
These classes are designed to not only to prepare you for the day of your child’s baptism, but also for the coming days as you raise your children in the Christian faith. Being a Christian parent or godparent is an important spiritual role in the life of the children God has blessed you with.
*Parents may attend any of the four-part courses listed below, prior to their baptism date. All classes are held on Sundays at 10:15 am in the Chapel unless otherwise noted.
