Adult Confirmation - Dynamics of a Vibrant Tradition
Led by the Rev. John Sundara
Sundays, March 29, April 12 – May 3
10:15 am -11 am in the Parlor
Confirmation Service: Sunday, May 10, 11:15 am in the Church with Bishop Rayford High
We all need spiritual empowerment to follow Christ and be his light in the world. Confirmation is the rite in which we publicly affirm our commitment to Christ and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop. In the Anglican (Episcopal) tradition, bishops trace their spiritual heritage back to the apostles, connecting us to the Church throughout the ages.
At Confirmation, you are welcomed more deeply into a global family of over 90 million Anglicans, called to grow in faith and to go forth in the power of the Holy Spirit as Christ’s light in the world.
While anyone who is baptized can become a member at St. John the Divine, we invite you to a deeper commitment through Confirmation by the laying on of hands and prayer by a bishop. If you have already been confirmed, the bishop will receive you or reaffirm your faith through the laying on of hands and prayer.
