Tabernacle, Temple, Today
January 4, 11, and 18, 2026
10:15 am | Hall Life Center
This three-week parish-wide adult Sunday School course will explore the theological and historical significance of the most important physical spaces in Scripture: the Tabernacle and the Temple. What did these two architectural structures represent for Israel? How did these sacred shrines from different periods in Israel’s history function in Israel’s worship life? And how do they prefigure the coming of Jesus? We will study Old Testament narratives about the Tabernacle and Temple, and engage New Testament understandings in light of Christ. And given significant campus improvements planned for SJD, we will connect Tabernacle and Temple to the importance of sacred buildings for today.
