Easter Services
Join us in celebration of the Risen Lord at a variety of worship services
At St. John the Divine, you will find an Easter service that's right for you! From traditional worship in a church decked with beautiful flowers with triumphant music led by the St. John’s Chorale, grand Létourneau organ, brass ensemble, and timpani, to modern worship with music led by the SJD Worship Band and special services planned with young families in mind, you will find a welcome place with our church family this Easter!
Sunday — 6 am | Church
Easter Vigil
Greet the dawn of Easter Day, all indoors this year, with the kindling of the Easter fire at the back of the Church near the balcony, followed by a traditional Easter Vigil service and communion. Music by the SJD Chorale. All are invited to bring bells to ring at the first "Alleluia" of the Easter season!
Sunday — 9 am & 11:15 am | Church
Traditional Worship
Traditional Easter services featuring familiar readings, joyous choral anthems, and sermon. Following communion, the congregation stands for the St. John the Divine Chorale's triumphant rendition of the Hallelujah Chorus. A festive prelude with organ, brass, and timpani begins 15 minutes ahead of each service. Nursery and childcare are available for both services. The 9 am service is live streamed and is followed by an indoor Easter egg gathering at 10:30 am.

Awesome Easter for Families
Choose from one of two Easter services planned for young children and families at 3 pm Saturday and 9:15 am Sunday in the Hall Life Center. These services are modeled after our regular Sunday morning Awesome Worship Service and include communion and interactive sermons just for children. Easter egg gatherings will follow both family services.

Modern Worship
Modern Easter worship is rooted in the Episcopal liturgy with modern music and hymns led by the SJD Worship Band. This service is live streamed. All egg gatherers are asked to come early for the 10:30 am Easter egg gathering.
Sunday — 5 pm | Chapel
Chapel Service
Gather in the Chapel on Easter evening for an intimate service in this sacred and special space. Hymns accompanied by the Chapel organ. Please note that the regular 8 am Chapel service will not meet on Easter Day.
Egg Gathering!
Your family can choose from two indoor egg gatherings: the first after the 3 pm Saturday service, and the second at 10:30 am on Sunday morning. These egg gatherings take place in the Admin Building for children that are toddlers - 5th grade. Refreshments will be available as well.
