Advent Lessons and Carols

Join the Choir of St. John the Divine on the first Sunday of Advent, December 1, for Advent Lessons & Carols. Our program begins at 5 pm in the Church with a reception to follow in Sumners Hall. The service will be live-streamed.

Our Lessons & Carols service is designed to offer a reflective and meditative approach to the Advent season, incorporating scripture readings (lessons) and music (carols) to guide our hearts as we anticipate the celebration of Christmas. 

Our service includes five Scripture passages read by members of our church family and clergy, followed by congregational singing of familiar carols led by The Choir of St. John the Divine. The service's unique blend of liturgy and music makes it a special time for us to reflect on the meaning of Advent while enjoying the beauty of choral and congregational singing.
