Many of us desire to take seriously God’s call to welcome the stranger, to be a light for the city, and to go forth to love and serve the LORD! But we often feel overwhelmed and unequipped to do so. Where do we start? How does this become part of our lives? On this day we have Community Engagement Training with Agape Development.
Community Engagement Training by Agape Development
Sunday, June 1
10:15 am - 12:15 pm, Youth Room
Lunch Provided - Please RSVP
Community Engagement Training provides incoming volunteers with insight into the root causes of community needs—such as generational poverty, unstable family structure, limited education, un-or under-employment, food insecurity and inadequate healthcare. Participants are asked to role play in the environments where our outreach partners work, with the goals of understanding the community, reflecting on their experiences, and discovering a place where they are passionate about serving as God's hands and feet."
Also, The SJD Annual Blood Drive in the Parlor, 9 am - 12 pm
