Flood Support Parent Workshop
A grief and trauma focused parent discussion designed to help families navigate conversations associated with loss and tragedy. The gathering is intended to be a question-and-answer time of support and sharing. Come to connect or simply listen. Questions for the group will involve, "What are you seeing in your family?" and "How can you help?" The time will be educational, supportive and insightful. Child care is available by RSVP to childcare@sjd.org.

Erin K. Robison is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Life Coach and Speaker. She has spent 25+ years working with children, parents, educators and women in various capacities. She has over 200 hundred hours of training in Play Therapy, including working with children who have experienced trauma and grief.
She earned her Bachelor Degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University in 1993. She returned to graduate school at Texas A&M and completed her Master of Education in Counseling in 2005. Erin spent eight years as an Elementary School Counselor working closely with kids, families and faculty. It was during this time that Erin began coaching parents in their mission to love their children well. Erin also has extensive experience working with grieving children and their families, through her work at The WARM Place in Ft. Worth, Texas, monitoring children’s support groups and providing training, support and insight to the volunteer facilitators.
In addition to private practice, she has been working in the Julianna Poor Memorial Counseling Center at Houston’s First Baptist Church since 2013 as a member of their Family Team, serving families and their children in a family systems and attachment approach. She has also worked with various camps and programs that provide therapeutic, psycho-educational and play therapy groups for children and their families, who have experienced grief and trauma related to death loss, illness or military deployment.
