Mission Trip to Mexico with Mexico Medical Mission

Join us as we travel from Houston to Chihuahua to see firsthand the work of God among the Tarahumara people.
Cost: $2,000 per person (airfare and transportation—flights, small-plane travel, and a journey on the world-famous Copper Canyon train—lodging, and meals).
Group size: Limited to 8 participants.

For more than two decades, St. John the Divine has partnered with missionaries serving faithfully in this region. On this trip, you will:
- Meet missionaries living sacrificially on the front lines of the Gospel.
- Witness the fruits of mission work among a poor and oppressed tribal community.
- Return home with a deeper burden for the Great Commission, inspired to let your giving, serving, and lifestyle reflect God’s call.
- Celebrate the role SJD has played in supporting this mission for many years.
Who Should Come?
Because of the travel logistics and the nature of the mission field, this trip is not suited for families with young children. The group will be limited to 8 adults.
A Note on Safety
While our partners on the ground help ensure safe travel and ministry opportunities, participants should be aware that this is not a tourist trip and that certain risks are present.

Hot Chocolate Mondays! In 2026, the SJD Snack Shack will continue to hold Hot Chocolate Mondays for Lamar High School students. Each Monday, Lamar H.S. students are invited to stop by for a free cup of hot chocolate, topped with marshmallows and kindness. Just like before, our goal is simple: to create a space where students feel seen, welcomed, and cared for at the start of their week. Service Saturday: Casa Mateo

Join us from 10 am to 1 pm as we serve alongside the Casa Mateo community. Volunteers will help with indoor cleaning and organizing projects, followed by a joyful lunch and bingo with resident families. Optional donation opportunities suggestions are welcome. Sign up to serve.
