SJD will be collecting Thanksgiving Meal items for our friends at the Nehemiah Center. Nehemiah Neighborhood Center creates a safe haven in which inner-city children are motivated, inspired and equipped to realize their God-given potential. Nehemiah Center provides a high-quality education for students while helping their families get the information and resources necessary to have stability in the home. Today, the Center works with over 500 vulnerable children and their working families annually.
Their motto is “Neighbors helping neighbors create a safe haven in which children are motivated, inspired and equipped to realize their God-given potential”.
SJD will provide 100 student families and staff Thanksgiving meals. We will be serving close to 600 individuals.
Thanks to our neighborhood HEB, St. John’s is the recipient of $25 gift cards to provide a turkey or meat of choice to complete our non-perishable items that SJD will provide.
*only purchase items requested, please*
Prefilled bags for a donation of $25 and gift cards for $25 will be for sale in Sumners Hall on Sundays, at Hope of Glory on Thursdays, and at other events like Oktoberfest! You can also donate online.
