Our Palm Sunday services begin with a blessing of the palms and procession into the worship space, and lead to a dramatic reading of Christ's passion and death at Calvary. Services range from the intimacy of the Chapel to the festive glory of traditional worship in the Church and the joy of modern worship in the Hall Life Center.
Gather outside the St. John the Divine Chapel for the Blessing of the Palms, then join the procession into the service. This traditional service includes the reading of the Passion and Holy Communion. Note that the circle drive will be closed, however, valet will be available under the church porte-cochere.
Gather outside at 8:45 am for the Blessing of the Palms, followed by a festive procession into the Church led by a donkey. The church service includes a dramatic reading of the Passion and music by led the Choir of St. John the Divine and organ.
Awesome Worship is a special service designed for children ages 3 through 3rd grade and their families with service elements tailored for younger children. Children will be invited to follow a donkey in a Palm Sunday procession before the Gospel reading. Music is led by the SJD Worship Band.
All children are invited to attend a special, age-appropriate Palm Sunday presentation with activities during the traditional Sunday School time.
After celebrating Palm Sunday at the 9 am or 9:15 am service, join Melissa Grobmyer in Room 201 from 10:30-11:30 for a presentation on Holy Week through art!
