Haiti Healthcare Partners (HHP), one of our global partners, serves as an oasis of peace and hope in the rural mountains of Haiti. They provide essential care to thousands of teachers, students, and families connected to the Haiti Education Foundation (HEF). Through their mobile clinic, HHP staff treat patients in HEF schools and Episcopal churches throughout the region. Beyond medical care, HEF and HHP also collaborate on academic, health, and athletic programs—including quiz bowls, first aid and CPR training, an interschool soccer tournament, and a student running club.
For 17 years, HHP’s medical team worked out of a building with limited space, lighting, and ventilation. Its shaded location made solar power impossible, limiting access to electricity. In 2022, HHP purchased a nearby plot of sunny land and began planning for a larger, better-equipped facility. Designed by an American-Haitian architectural and engineering team, the new 2,700-square-foot clinic is earthquake-resistant and topped with a solar array.
Thanks to your generosity, our 2023 Christmas offering helped make this vision a reality by funding the solar power system so essential to the new clinic. In 2024, the building was constructed, the solar equipment was purchased and installed, and in January 2025, the Jean-Wilfrid Albert Clinic officially opened.
Reflecting on the impact, Dr. Mackey Quinlan, President of the HHP Board of Directors, shares:
“It has helped provide higher quality medical care to more and more families who are fleeing Port-au-Prince for the safety of the rural mountains. I have an all-Haitian staff of 14, and we treat around 1,500 patients each month. The solar electricity your church funded not only powers our first functioning lab and other desperately needed medical equipment, but it has been a light in the mountains—a reminder of God's love and promise to an area that often feels forgotten.”
As the clinic continues to grow, with plans for a water cistern and expanded partnerships, we remain grateful for your role in this story. Your generosity has helped shine a light, both literal and symbolic, in a place where it is deeply needed.
Thank you!
