Shine Forth is our campaign to grow in faith, fellowship, and service, and be A Light for the City.

With deep gratitude, we are excited to share a new opportunity that will help carry the Shine Forth campaign forward in a powerful way.

Shine Forth: Double the Light Challenge

Thanks to the generosity of three anonymous donors, every new or increased pledge made between May 1 and June 15 will be matched—dollar-for-dollar—up to $1.5 million.

To unlock the match, we need at least 100 new or increased commitments during this 46-day period.

This is a powerful moment to double the impact of your commitment.

This is another gracious invitation to participate meaningfully in the “Shine Forth” campaign that will not only bless SJD in the short term but also bless our congregation and our city for generations to come. May a broad response to this extraordinary matching opportunity intensify our light in Christ.

To date, just over 300 households have participated in Shine Forth. The Double the Light Challenge is an invitation to broaden participation so that even more of our parish family can help shape the future of St. John the Divine.

In the years to come, this shared commitment will be remembered as part of St. John the Divine’s story. Plans are underway to recognize those who participate in Shine Forth in a permanent way on our campus, honoring the generosity that is shaping our future.
