Announcing our New Children's Ministry Director — Holli Kight

Dear friends,

I am delighted to share that Holli Kight has accepted my invitation to join the St. John the Divine staff as Director of Children’s Ministry effective June 1, 2025.

Holli currently works as Public Relations Project Manager for Sherry Matthews Group in Houston. From 2008 to 2022, she served as Director of Children’s Ministry at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church. Obviously, Holli brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to this important ministry, is extremely familiar with our traditions and cultural context, and I could not be more grateful that Holli said “yes” to this call. I should note that she is married to Allen Kight, President of Camp Allen, our diocesan camp and retreat center, and is the mother to Ellie, our Associate Youth Minister.

We have been well-served by a faithful, diligent, and patient search committee, and I offer my deep gratitude to that group for their ministry. Members were Park Carter, John Charles, the Rev. Libby Garfield (staff), Sarah Gividen (staff), Thays Gross, Caroline Kennedy, Kimberly Lawrence, Leslie Loftis, Ashley Weathers, and Travis Wofford.

I know you will join me in welcoming Holli into the St. John the Divine fellowship later this spring. She is a delightful, warm-spirited leader and relationship builder. With much opportunity before us in Children’s Ministry and a devoted team of staff and volunteers committed to this realm of parish life, I am very excited about the future of family formation for SJD.
