Leaders in many churches with older members recognize their inability to adequately assist them as they struggle with age-related challenges. RightCare Ministry is a data-driven methodology based on 20 years of clinical research of more than 200,000 seniors which effectively addresses those challenges and needs to bring a new level of caring to our churches.

The difficult reality is seniors and their families are navigating these challenges without the education, tools, resources and support they need. Many of these challenges are assumed to be primarily medical yet they are most often everyday care events which are preventable. For over 7 years at St. John's, we have been training clergy, lay ministers, volunteers and healthcare professionals how to identify and score risk factors for our at-risk seniors and, frankly, it is all of them.

Scoring is only the 1st step. More importantly, we can prevent potential crises such as falls, caregiver burn out, medication mismanagement, loss of meaningful engagements, hospital and rehab revolving doors, declining independence and cognitive changes. The 2nd step is explaining to scores to our families and helping them to address the suggested changes that will improve their safety, quality of life, medication administration, independence while decreasing family burden of care and relational tension.

Now, as a church ministry, effective support systems and clear solutions that protect our seniors, strengthen families and reduce hardships are available. We offer free training to other churches willing to recognize the severity of struggles our seniors face and want to proactively help. The Church can now offer clarity, compassion and positive outcomes that are not found in our healthcare system.”
