SJD on the Town: Bush Presidential LIbrary
It's SJD on the Town, and you are invited! On Saturday, August 1, join us for a day trip to College Station to visit the Presidential Library and Museum of our 41st President, George H. W. Bush. We will carpool from SJD and after our time at the museum, visit the grave of George and Barbara Bush followed by lunch together. Cost: $8/person plus individual cost of lunch. Limit 20 people. Please RSVP to Susannah Webb by July 24.

Exhibits at the Presidential Library and Museum chronicle major events in the life of President Bush and his wife Barbara, revealing the influences and challenges that shaped his presidency. A special exhibit honoring America’s semiquincentennial, E Pluribus Unum: Celebrating the American Experience, will be open, offering visitors a glimpse of different areas of our culture that are distinctly American.
Approximate Itinerary (exact schedule will be confirmed after receipt of RSVP):
7:15 AM: Meet at SJD circular drive. We will carpool to College Station.
9:30 AM: Check in at museum for our group visit.
c. 11:30 AM: Visit gravesite of the George & Barbara Bush, a half-mile walk from the museum building. The gravesite is not accessible by car, but there is a sidewalk with stairs and a ramp for wheelchairs and strollers. This is optional for participants.
c. 12:15 PM: Depart museum grounds and go to Koppe Bridge Bar & Grill (11777 Wellborn Rd, College Station, TX 77845) to enjoy lunch together.
c. 3:00 PM: Arrive back at SJD
Cost: $8 per person, plus individual cost for lunch.
