Through funding, volunteering, and partnerships, Go Ministries helps people in need – locally and globally – by supporting organizations that provide housing, education, jobs, and disaster relief. It’s about putting our faith into action.
Go ministries are about putting faith into action -helping those in need, supporting meaningful initiatives, and making a tangible difference both locally and globally. Through financial support and hands-on service, the ministry ensures that the church remains a beacon of love, generosity, and hope.
The Go Ministry at St. John the Divine is about “going out” to serve our community! Whether you’re passionate about helping the homeless, reading to children, mentoring youth, or something else close to your heart, we help connect you with local non-profits that need volunteers.

Join us for a meaningful and creative mission! We’re aiming to make 50 quilts for Houston children, to be gifted in April 2026 during St. John the Divine’s third Sleep in Heavenly Peace bed-building event. All are welcome—adults and youth, beginners and experienced quilters alike. We’ll teach you how to cut fabric, sew a 1/4” seam on a machine, and piece together a quilt top. Hosted by the St. John the Divine Sewing Guild with support from the Quilt Guild of Greater Houston.
