“Let your light shine…(to) give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
— Matthew 5:16
Jesus calls us to shine his light everywhere. At SJD, we believe Christ chooses each church member to represent him, especially to those who don't know his love or are in need. We love Houston and strive to be brighter lights for the Gospel. Are you ready to Go and Serve? Thanks.

Hot Chocolate Mondays! In 2026, the SJD Snack Shack will continue to hold Hot Chocolate Mondays for Lamar High School students. Each Monday, Lamar H.S. students are invited to stop by for a free cup of hot chocolate, topped with marshmallows and kindness. Just like before, our goal is simple: to create a space where students feel seen, welcomed, and cared for at the start of their week. Click the button below to sign up to volunteer for one or more Mondays! Thank you.

Join the Service Saturday team on March 14 at Prestige Learning Institute (PLI), one of our newest community partners. PLI is a Houston-based organization committed to glorifying God by educating, equipping, and ministering to Muslim immigrant and refugee families, empowering them to thrive in the U.S. Service projects will include touch-up paint throughout the building and other projects that foster a welcoming environment at PLI. We look forward to supporting their campus and the meaningful work they do each day. Come ready to serve, connect, and be inspired.
