“Let your light shine…(to) give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
— Matthew 5:16
Jesus calls us to shine his light everywhere. At SJD, we believe Christ chooses each church member to represent him, especially to those who don't know his love or are in need. We love Houston and strive to be brighter lights for the Gospel. Are you ready to Go and Serve? Thanks.

Hot Chocolate Mondays! As the weather cools (hopefully), the SJD Snack Shack will hold Hot Chocolate Mondays for Lamar High School students. Each Monday, Lamar H.S. students are invited to stop by for a free cup of hot chocolate, topped with marshmallows and kindness. Just like before, our goal is simple: to create a space where students feel seen, welcomed, and cared for at the start of their week. Click the button below to sign up to volunteer for one or more Mondays! Thank you.

Wrap the City in Joy with two serving opportunities! Our mission is simple: wrap doors (yes, actual doors!) with festive Christmas paper, ribbon, and uplifting messages for residents and staff, reminding people they are seen, loved, and valued. On Monday, November 17 at 11 am, we're going to Casa Mateo. There's another opportunity on November 20 at 3 pm at A Lighted Path Adults in Training. Please visit our events list to learn more.
