Go Outreach Ministry

The Go Outreach ministry supports and collaborates with community partners to serve adults and children in the Greater Houston area in the areas of housing, employment, education, nutrition, social services, and other necessities thanks to generous gifts of time, talent, and financial resources.

  • You can get involved in serving our city through drives, service projects, and volunteer opportunities that support our many partners in Houston and the world. With pandemic restrictions easing, we also look forward to resuming foreign mission trips in 2023.
  • We offer financial assistance to organizations through a grant process directed by the Go Leadership Team, a small group of parishioners that serve three-year terms, in collaboration with the rector and vestry. We distribute 10% of all pledges and plate offerings to local and global partners.
  • Our ongoing investment in Houston and beyond is our response to the grace of our baptism and the Church's ongoing work of redemption in the world — a living witness of the Good News of God's love as we know it through Jesus.

You are invited to be the light of Christ in our church and city through service.

Your gift to the Episcopal Relief Fund's Turkey-Syria Earthquake Response Fund helps provide critical relief to communities in Turkey and Syria impacted by the recent earthquake. In supporting their local partners with life-saving supplies and resources, medicine, and emergency support, you can help these communities rebuild and heal.

An update from the Episcopal Relief Fund:

Friends in Christ,

As our relief work in the aftermath of the 7.8-magnitude earthquake continues in Syria, we wanted to send you an update, as the support of this community has already proven critical in the early days of recovery.

Episcopal Relief & Development continues to partner with ACT Alliance to provide emergency relief in hard-to-reach areas of northern Syria. Working through the Middle East Council of Churches and other local organizations, the ACT Alliance is sheltering 10,000 families in open-air or structurally sound facilities; providing survivors with hot meals, blankets, medicine and trauma support; supplying body bags and other necessities to hospitals; and helping children return to school to provide more stability. The Anglican Church in Aleppo is sheltering another 1,000 people and providing similar support. In Türkiye (Turkey), we continue consulting with partners to plan for short-term relief and longer-term recovery.

Recovery from a disaster of this scale will be long and arduous work — but when we pull together, we can help bring relief to people whose lives have been upended by the quakes. We hope you feel called to make an urgent donation today. Your gift will go to work swiftly and effectively.

Thank you for your compassion, and for praying for those affected. If you've already made a donation, please accept our gratitude — and share the word of our urgent mission to friends and family.

With appreciation,
Your friends at Episcopal Relief & Development
